Selena Gomez: My Mind & Me — Official Trailer

In honour of World Mental Health Day, Selena Gomez has unveiled the official first trailer for her upcoming Apple TV+ documentary My Mind & Me, which will follow her over the preceding six years.

“Selena, just be who you are. In the clip, Gomez states, “No one is interested in what you’re doing”.

According to Apple, the film, which was directed by Alek Keshishian, will provide a “uniquely raw and intimate” look at Gomez’s life and “bring her six-year journey into a new light.”

At the conclusion of the trailer, Gomez states that the new chapter she is beginning represents a fresh start and allows her to let go of the cycles she had previously been caught in. Let me make a vow, she says. I promise to stop living in this manner.

Gomez is heard stating, “I’m just making it my buddy now,” in the frank and open video, which was published in support of global mental health education and awareness on World Mental Health Day. I am aware that this is just the beginning for me.

In a cover story for Elle from the year before, the actress and singer talked about her struggles with the spotlight: These were all things that should have destroyed me, she said.

In recent years, Gomez has been transparent about her struggles with her mental health. After finding that she had lupus, Gomez sought mental health treatment at a clinic in 2014.

In 2020, she revealed that she had also been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Gomez had a kidney transplant in 2017 as a result of the challenges and side effects of lupus.

All of these things, including my lupus, kidney transplant, chemotherapy, having a mental illness, and experiencing extremely public heartbreaks, were factors. “Then what? Every time I experienced something, I thought, “How much longer must I endure this?

Gomez has made an attempt to give back to the neighbourhood, in part by linking her business ventures to charitable contributions.

The HBO Max cooking show Selena + Chef distributes money to charity, while the Rare Impact Fund, a project of Selena’s Rare Beauty line, aims to generate $100 million over ten years for mental health programmes. Wondermind, a platform for mental health, was also introduced by Gomez.
