In his upcoming biopic, Jared Leto will play the late fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Although the director has not yet been decided, the movie will be produced by Leto and his business partner Emma Ludbook through their company Paradox and Karl Lagerfeld's House of Karl Lagerfeld.

The movie's executive producers will include Pier Paolo Righi, Caroline Lebar, and Sébastien Jondeau, three of Lagerfeld's closest confidants.

The CEO of Karl Lagerfeld Righi stated, "Over the years, we have been approached by a number of Hollywood producers who offered that we partner on a movie about Karl's illustrious life.

We didn't feel fully secure about the narrative being conveyed in the creative way Karl would have liked to see until we met Jared and Emma," says Emma.

According to Leto's statement to WWD, the film will likely examine the designer's "many romances."
